Who are we?

ENERGIA-Africa is the regional chapter of ENERGIA -the International Network on Gender and Sustainable Energy- in Africa. Established in 2000, ENERGIA-Africa is a network of men and women whose common goal is to create equal opportunity and access to relevant energy resources for the poor. ENERGIA-Africa is the key player in gender and energy in the region.

The network focuses on: information exchange, research, capacity building and policy-influencing actions that aim to result in gender-sensitive energy programs and policies. 

ENERGIA-Africa is your channel to information on gender and energy in Africa. We are present in 13 African countries: Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Mali, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
